How effective are flexible solar panels?

I’m considering solar panels for my RV roof, but rigid ones seem too heavy. Flexible panels look convenient, yet I’m unsure about durability and power output. Are compact 12V systems efficient for daily use?

On longer camping trips, I’ve noticed smaller panels can still be surprisingly effective if placed right. A 100w flexible solar panel won’t power everything, but it’s perfect for charging batteries, phones, lights, or a 12 V fridge. Mounting it on curved surfaces makes setup easier, especially on RV roofs or boats. I just keep mine angled and clean — even a thin dust layer cuts efficiency a lot. It’s all about managing consumption, not expecting it to replace a full power grid.
